How to Eat Vegan and Gluten Free in Utrecht, Netherlands
In August of 2022, I spent two days in Utrecht. While visiting, I found so many great, safe restaurants with vegan and gluten free options!

Can you eat vegan and gluten free in Utrecht?
Yes! It is pretty easy to visit Utrecht as a gluten free vegan. There are a number of safe restaurants with several options on their menus.
There are also grocery stores where you can get snacks of ingredients to make your own meals.
You’ll be able to find options for everyone and any occasion.

Does Utrecht have vegan and gluten free options?
There are several vegan and gluten free options in Utrecht. There are a few dedicated gluten free and/or vegan restaurants as well.
Staff at most restaurants in Utrecht know about celiac disease and cross contamination. If you talk to the staff at any restaurant, they will tell you if they can make food for someone with an allergy.

Is it hard to be vegan and gluten free in Utrecht?
It is not hard at all to be a gluten free vegan in Utrecht! There are so many restaurants with plenty of options.
Grocery stores also have many vegan and gluten free options and are adding more every year.
In Utrecht, almost everyone speaks fluent English. You do not need to know any Dutch to communicate your dietary restrictions in Utrecht.
